If you only saw the trailer for “Fast & Furious” then you have seen the movie. Number four in the car, sex and fight series. And always a crazy time. But you could just play the video game and it would be the same. But then again what’s wrong with watching cool cars, Vin Diesel murmur lines and pretty people making out? Nothing, I guess. This film apparently takes place after the first film. But I’m not sure as I have never watched one of these films all together in one sitting. But really, who cares? Is there a sub-culture of F&F fans that would hold the timeline to the same strict guidelines that a bunch of Star Trek nerds would? If there is I want to go to that convention! If it’s anything like the race parties in the film that have DJ’s on the 1’s and 2’s and hot ladies making out, then get me a lanyard! So this film has Paul Walker still with the FBI and Diesel still up to his old crazy tricks. Gotta love the standard “were puttin’ the band back together” dialogue in the beginning. I mean I haven’t seen Michelle Rodriguez shooting things since she was getting arrested for drunk driving on a wacky time-traveling island somewhere in the South Pacific. It’s like old times that I never had because I’ve only watched parts of these films late night in some Marriott off the freeway after a show. Anyway this time Vin and Paul team up to hunt down a drug dealer that is a meanie! A lot of tension since Walker dated Vin’s sister and she fell in love without knowing he was a cop. It’s like an episode of “21 Jump Street”. (Which I loved). I’m not sure I’m telling anyone to go see this film or not. But maybe you should. Maybe you should be taken into a glitzy underworld of mini skirts and fast cars. And maybe we’ll all learn a little bit about ourselves along the way. Like how I should’ve driven the half mile to the multi-plex as it was raining when I came out. Nothing like running across a busy street in the rain trying to get to the Pizza Hut, after just seeing someone highjack an oil truck. Yeah go PALM STRIKE your ’98 Seabring to make it Fast & Furious.
